Ed Walker's Drive-In & Restaurant Reviews

Best restaurant for travelers with small children in Fort Smith, Arkansas. We came here on a Thursday night at 7:00 with tickets to ride the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad from Van Buren the next morning. Our meal was hot, fast, and extremely friendly. Like another reviewer stated, this is a diner, and a very good one. Plenty of relics on the wall for children to look at. The Razorback burger add chili looked amazing! Our waitress gave our children quarters to ride the hog, then we ordered them M&M cookies and she walked our homemade malts to the car, which any drive-thru couldn’t hold a candle to. Could not have asked for a better experience for our family road trip.

This place was delicious! Stopped by passing through Fort Smith, on our way north. Found from Diners Drive Ins & Dives. Really cool spot, friendly staff, reasonable! The Cheeseburgers were absolutely delicious, and onion rings. Got the famous French dip too, but burgers were superior, hands down. Would recommend!

My new favorite place! Definitely going to have to stop in next time I’m in the area. Curbside beer service is amazing!

I was visiting Ft Smith to do some antique shopping when I noticed this restaurant that was next door had a full parking lot. I have this rule that if a local restaurant is packed, I need to check it out. The diner has this 50’s feel to it. They have display cases with pies and cakes that look delicious. The staff are courteous and friendly. I noticed that whenever someone left, they are quick to clean up and that table is taken right away, it seems they stay full, which means the food is good. Their sign says French dipped sandwiches, so I figured I’d give it a try, and I have to say it was excellent. My wife had a cheeseburger with curly fries and she ate all of it, which is telling because she rarely finishes her food. If I’m ever back in Ft Smith, I’m definitely coming back.

Well despite the crappy awful review some guy gave recently, our food was great! Classic diner food! I got the grilled cheese and fries and they were sooooo good! We'll definitely be back!

Had a late dinner here on a Sunday, one of the few places open later than 9 p.m. Diner fare, but good. The three of us had burgers of different types; Bison, Chili cheese, and a regular cheeseburger, all of which were very good. Had Jalapeño "buttons" as they were aptly named for an appetizer. My best friend and I finished off with pie for dessert; one slice of German Chocolate and a slice of Coconut Cream. Everything was delicious and service was great. I was meeting my long time best friend and they were kind enough to keep our drinks filled while we talked for a couple hours catching up.

What a little gem of a place. A proper American diner, it's an original diner dating back to 1943, and I can see why it's stood the test of time. There is a great sense of being back in time, and you can imagine what the place felt like to be in the 40s 50s and 60s with the old cars, the change in music and people's styles. This restaurant has a great atmosphere around it, it's extremely welcoming, the staff were truly amazing and look after you. The food was amazing, cooked and tasted really nice, proper American diner food at its best , we have the odd American diners around in England and myself and my wife have been in a couple, you get a sense of what it would be like to be in one, but you just don't get the same feeling as we did being in Ed Walkers. It was a true American experience on our road trip, THANK YOU

Outstanding!! Having never been to Ft Smith this place came highly recommended. Especially for the French Dip and that's exactly what I got! My wife chose the Open Faced Chili Cheese Burger w/Curly Fries. My step sin chose the Hot Chicken Sandwich w/Tots. I would highly recommend trying this place out whether you are local or just visiting this is a must try!
